Smashburger Tacos

Step 1: Make grilled onions. Sauté sliced onions with salt, pepper, brown sugar, and 1-3 tablespoons of water in a pan until softened and caramelized.

Step 2: Make the tacos. Season ground meat with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to taste. Press about 2-3 ounces of the seasoned meat onto a taco-sized flour tortilla.

Step 3: Make smash sauce. In a small bowl, combine 1/4 cup light mayo, 1 1/2 tbsp ketchup, 1/2 tsp mustard, 1 1/4 tsp relish, and season with salt and pepper. Mix well.

Step 4: Cook. Place the tortilla with the meat side down on a pan (you can use zero cal avocado oil spray, or regular avocado oil for a crispier taco). Cook for about 3 minutes until the meat is browned. Flip the taco, add cheese, and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted and the tortilla is lightly toasted.

Step 5: Assemble. Add the prepared smash sauce, grilled onions, and lettuce to the cooked taco.
